Anna Schwirian

Anna Schwirian
Age 27

I’m Anna. I work at the front desk of a hotel and I love it. I feel so accomplished in life, and I believe that my biggest accomplishment is when I worked four paid jobs and one volunteer job at the same time. I believe it shows that I will do whatever I have to in order to make it in life.

My parents were the resource that benefit me the most, because they stood up for me and didn’t let me use the words “I can’t.” I want to tell people on the autism spectrum to not let anyone tell them what they can and can’t do. I want to help people understand that autism is not a disability, but a different breed of human beings.

The advice I have for others is this: Don’t let anyone else define what is impossible for you. I’ve conquered obstacles in my life with the help of God and my Heart Family – they love me and don’t want me to change unless I choose to make changes myself.
